Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! キリストは甦りました！本当に甦りました！

The women went to the tomb on that first Easter morning looking for the body of Jesus. その最初の復活祭の朝、婦人達はお墓に行って、イエス様の体を探しました 。They did not find it. 見つけられませんでした。Where is Jesus, they wondered. イエス様はどこだろうかと不思議に思いました。The angels told them that Jesus had risen from the dead. そして、天使はイエス様が甦りましたと教えました。The women told everything to the disciples. 　婦人達はそれを弟子達に告げました。 Then Peter ran to the tomb and found it empty. ペテロはお墓まで走って行きましたが、お墓が空っぽなのが分かりました。Where is Jesus, he wondered. イエス様の体はどこでしょうかと不思議に思いました。Christ had risen from the dead! キリストは甦りました！ He was no longer in the tomb. もうお墓の中にいません。 They could not find Jesus, but he found them. 彼らはイエス様を見つけられませんでしたが、イエス様は彼らを見つけました。Jesus appeared to the women and to the disciples and they could really know that Jesus truly had risen from the grave. イエス様は婦人達や弟子達に現れたので、イエス様は本当に甦ったと彼等は知りました。 Hallelujah! ハレルヤ！

Today on this Easter morning, we too search for Jesus. 今日のイースターの朝、私達もイエス様を探します。We know we will not find him in the tomb, of course, but where shall we look if we want to find him. イエス様がお墓の中ではないと分かりますが、どこに彼を見つけられるでしょうか。 But, on second thought, I was wondering, maybe we want to find him still in the tomb. しかし、よく考えますと、私は思いますが、もしかしたら、イエス様をまだお墓の中にいるように見つけたいのでしょうか。The way people live it is as if Jesus were still dead. Sometimes it seems easier to live our lives if Jesus does not bother us. もしそうでしたら、イエス様は私達の人生の邪魔をしないでしょう。 Then we could do what we wanted to do. 私たちは自分の好きなように何でも出来るからです。Our consciences would not bother us. 私たちの良心は悩みません。We could do whatever we wanted to do. 好きな事なら何でも出来ます。We would not be limited by anything. 限りがありません。Except that we would be limited by death. しかし死ぬ事で全ては終ります。それで限りがあります。We might be able to overcome some things in this world. この世のあるものを乗り越えます。We can overcome some of our problems and even recover from sickness. ある問題を解決し、ある病気から治ります。But we cannot overcome death. しかし死を乗り越える事が出来ません。 And that is why we do not want to find Jesus in the tomb. その理由で、イエス様をお墓の中に見つけたくありません。 If Jesus is still dead, then we have no hope for eternal life. もしイエス様がまだ死んでいましたら、永遠の命の希望がありません。 We have no hope for forgiveness. 赦しの希望がありません。We have no hope for guidance and help in our lives. 人生の為の導きと助けへの希望がありません。And so we have to find Jesus. ですからイエス様を見つけなければなりません。 But where shall we find him? しかし、イエス様をどこに見つける事が出来るでしょうか。

Where shall we look for Jesus? どこを探しましょうか。 Where shall we seek for God? どこに神様を探しましょうか。 In nature? 自然のなかでしょうか。In this season of spring? 春の季節の中でしょうか。In an Easter egg basket? イースターエッグのバスケットの中でしょうか。This morning we are in church because we know that this is the place to begin our search. 今朝、私達が教会に来ましたのは、ここは探すべきところであると分かるからです。Here we find Jesus. ここでイエス様を見つけます。 First we find him in the Bible. まず聖書の中で見つけます。 We find Jesus because he comes to us. 私達がイエス様を見つけるのは、彼がまず私達の所に来られるからです。He comes in the story we read. 私達が読む話しの中に来ます。Jesus died on the cross and on the third day he rose from the dead. イエス様は十字架上で死んで三日目に復活しました。 Just in the reading of those words Jesus comes to us. ただこの言葉を読む事によって、イエス様は私達に来られます。 In faith we find Jesus there. 信仰によってここでイエス様を見つけます。Then in the hymns and prayers and sermon, we find out more about Jesus. それから、賛美や祈りや説教の中で、イエス様の事を更に知ります。 We find that he died to forgive our sin. 私達の罪を赦す為に死んで下さった事が述べ伝えられています。He died to destroy the final power of death. 死の最後の力を滅ぼす為に死にました。He arose that we too might arise. 私達も甦る為にイエス様は復活しました。He rose on the third day, we shall rise on the Last Day. 彼は三日目に復活しましたが、私達は世の最後の日に復活します。He arose that we might live right now in the joy and peace of God’s love. 彼は甦られたので、私達は今から喜びと平和を持って神様の愛の内に生きる事が出来ます。

The Gospel message of Easter is not so much that we find Jesus, but rather that Jesus has found us. イースターの福音のメッセージとは、私達がイエス様を見つけることよりも、イエス様が私達を見つけてくださった事です。 He was born in Bethlehem at Christmas in order to search for us. クリスマスの時、ベツレヘムで生まれたのは私達を探す為です。 He found the poor, the outcasts, and all those who love the Lord. 貧しい人をも、捨てられた人をも、主なる神様を愛する人々も見つけました。On the cross he found our sin and took it upon himself. 十字架上で私達の罪を見つけて、それを御自分の上に取りました。He found our death and died. But on the third day, he found life again. しかし、三日目に再び命を見つけました。 He broke out of the tomb. He broke free of sin and death. お墓をやぶり、 罪と死の束縛（そくばく）から自由になりました。 Jesus first found the women, then he found the disciples, and now he has found us. イエス様は先ずのその婦人達を見つけて、それから弟子達を見つけて、そして今度、私達を見つけました。

Have you found Jesus? あなたはイエス様を見つけましたか。 Has he found you? イエス様があなたを見つけたでしょうか。 Then today, let’s confess our faith in word and song and prayer and sacrament. それで、今日その信仰を告白しましょう。言葉や賛美歌や祈りや礼典によってそれを告白しましょう。

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! キリストは甦りました！本当に甦りました！
